Conversations in HotDish Hell #4: K or a S?

December 7, 2012 by meximo70

queSince living here amongst the largest consumers of cream of mushroom soup, many have tried to guess at my nationality. I’ve got Maori and Irish in me; but i only seem to confuse most people.

A friend had come up with the nationality ‘meximo’ (half mexican half eskimo). since most people guess mexican more so than maori. even the mexicans think i am mexican.

the following is a conversation i had while trying to warn the owner of the local mexican store his van was on fire.

mexican: Oye, amigo, ¿qué estás haciendo aquí

me: um…can you tell matt his van is smoking out in the parking lot?

mexican: fumar? su camioneta?

me: uh…where is Matt?

mexican: ¿Habla usted español

me: i’m not latino…no comprende.

mexican: what nationality are you?

me: really? matt’s van is on fire! where is he?

mexican: you’re putting me on.

me: oh for the love of God!

mexican: are you chinese?
