The Mystery of the Lost Painting…

A few years ago with Marvin County had their Sesquatchsentiniel, there were a lot of things to do and see.

missingpaintingbobbyOne of those things was an art contest. Never one to ever participate, i thought i would try my luck anyways. It was an abstract portrait of Robert DeNiro in his role of Max Cady from “Cape Fear”. It was a birthday gift to my wife. I won some award of some sort and i was asked by the committee if i would loan it out to them so they could show it around town.

Those areas being: The HotDish Hell Opry Huis, The Red Rocket Art Centre, The Marvin County Court House, The Ludes Wing Nursing Home, and a couple places out of the HotDish Hell area.

So somewhere, within the limits of Marvin County, my Bobby D homage is gracing someone’s wall. Or in the basement of some warehouse, next to the ark of the covenant. At least i have this medal to show for it….somewhere…

  1. What an awesome story! That painting is probably worth a ton now…!?

  2. Jack Flacco says:

I had the same thing happen to me in high school. I drew a portrait of my child-hero Charles Bronson as Harmonica in the movie Once Upon a Time in the West. Never won an award or anything, but it definitely turned some heads as the art teacher wanted to display it outside the hall with the very best of the art department’s work. Well, it hung there along with fifteen other works for a good two weeks until I came to school one Monday to find it had disappeared. All the others hung neatly on the walls. Mine was nowhere to be found.

Huh…maybe it’s buried along with your Bobby D in the artifacts government warehouse. Man, I miss it…
