Conversations In HotDish Hell #20: OMGosh…it happened…

January 24, 2013 by meximo70

hangloosesignHow many posts and how many conversations can i write where people have asked me if i was from Hawaii and if so do i know Kermit Kanoa? He’s from Hawaii too? How many years have i lived here in this town of 10,500/11,666/10,566 (no seriously, depending on which end of town you come in on, our population is different on each sign) and NOT bumped into possibly the only other polynesian in HotDish Hell, MN? maybe all of Minnesota??

hangloosepunchyOne day at Allgreen’s Drug:

Kermit: ‘Scuse me, brah, are you from Hawaii?

Me: (sigh) yeah, i’m from…um…oh my god…are you?

Kermit: hahahahaha…you must be Meximo, i always get asked if i know you. hahahahahhahaha!

Me: I always get asked the same thing! We finally meet!

(shakes hands)

hangloosebigbangJust then, a rip in the time space continuim opens up and tears apart the fabric of reality. As matter and anti-matter clash splitting atoms and dark matter engulfs this dimension into an endless warp bubble. The universe as we know it, emplodes and sucks existence as we know it into a black hole abyss…..

Bahaha! A rip in the time space continuum, gosh that’s funny. I can always tell when someone’s a Trekkie, somehow the time space continuum always pops up in conversation. Er, uhm, you are a Trekkie, right? Seriously though, you must be the only non-white in that town. Have you had folks sit and stare at you? What’s the weirdest thing they’ve asked you? Actually, don’t answer those, save it for a post. But I still want to know if you’re a Trekkie.

YES! i am a trekkie! old school and next gen…i’m still not decided yet on the new movies they made with young kirk and young spock…but i live long and prosper….DS9 was up in the air for me too, until they did that retro episode with the “trouble with tribbles”…that was great film making

      • Jack Flacco says:

Ah-ha! I knew it. I love all of Star Trek. And yeah, DS9, what happened there? The “trouble with tribbles” is still one of my favorite episodes along with the one where Kirk and Spock travel back in time to Chicago in the gangster era. Love that one.
