Faced with higher expenses than forseen, the city of HotDish Hell, MN is raising it’s utility rates from 8-12%.
The multi-million dollar water plant they are currently building has become more expensive than initially planned. Part of that reason, according to council member Hurka Derc, “the people of HotDish Hell have conserved water too well.”
Probably not by choice, since the city of HotDish Hell imposed a water ban last year because lake levels and drought conditions of last summer. If caught breaking the water ordinance, you would be hit with a heavy fine; as Meximo Gundersen almost found out when washing skunk junk off his dog.
So because of the imposed water ban, the citizens of HotDish Hell did not consume the amount of water the city council would hope they would leaving them scratching their heads on how to acquire revenue for the new water plant.
Now, they’ve decided to up utilities for the residents by near 12%. A penalty for city imposed water conservation. Now there’s a money maker we never saw coming.
We were told we weren’t going to get increases, but we did. On top of that, we got them for a building that isn’t built yet.
Mike Humble, the new HotDish Hell City Administer said that although there are millions of dollars in a slush fund for emergencies, he didn’t want to touch it because he didn’t want to be known as the administrator who “pushed the button”.
While another council member pointed out that those that can’t afford the increase, are getting a bigger rate taken than someone who can afford the increase. Humble told him “Shut up! I’m running the show, and if i say it’s 12% across the board, it’s 12% across the board!!”
